Having enjoyed recreational horseback riding all of her life, Janie firmly believes that horses give back to their riders, contributing to their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

Leo Craven


Executive Director


Leo grew up on a horse ranch in McMinnville, Oregon, and has spent the majority of his life in the fields of education and health & wellness.

Caitlin Beazely


Equine Coordinator & Riding Instructor


Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Caitlin graduated with her B.A. in Therapeutic Riding in 2009 from St. Andrews Presbyterian College (North Carolina), and has been a NARHA Certified Riding Instructor since 2007.

Michelle Chalfant


Riding Instructor


Michelle is the Lead Instructor for the Pegasus Project and has been with the program since it began in 2003 (she was initially a volunteer).  Michelle has been instrumental in the growth of Pegasus, succesfully mentoring & training two of our current NARHA Certified Instructors and assisting with the NARHA Premier Accreditation process.

Karrie Myre


Riding Instructor


Karrie graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science from Central Washington University and was a volunteer with the Pegasus Project for nearly a year before becoming a NARHA Certified Riding Instructor in 2008.

Rachael Conroy


Riding Instructor


Originally from Santa Barbara, CA, Rachael has always loved horses and kids, and recently became certified as a NARHA Registered Instructor in October 2009.

Brooke Hamilton


Equine Assistant


Brooke grew up on the “west side” of the mountains (Whidbey Island) and has a very impressive riding background, having competed with Arabian horses on a National level in both Western & English.

Dara Osborne


Volunteer Coordinator


Dara was a volunteer with Pegasus for almost two years, including "Volunteer of the Session" in Winter 2009, before joining the staff in December of 2009.
